Vote For Jon McConnell’s “12 Seconds of Fame” Superbowl Animation

Fellow Visionaries,

Just wanted to inform you that a former student – @jonthevoice Jon McConnell, who took his first ever animation class last spring, specifically, my Animation Art 184 class involving Adobe Flash, has a chance to have an animation of his featured here in Arizona during half-time of the upcoming Superbowl on Channel 12. The local station’s 12 News program sponsored a “12 Seconds of Fame” contest in which anyone could submit a 12 second video telling how 12 News connects them to Arizona.

Jon was inspired to use his developing talent in animation to create his submission, and has been informed that he is one of the three finalists. The three finalists videos are currently displayed on the 12 News Facebook page, and anyone with a Facebook account can view them and vote. I won’t try to tell you “how” you should vote, but I will say that I visited the page, viewed all three videos and seeing the cleverness of Jon’s video and knowing what goes into producing even just a 12 second good quality animation….He got my vote hands down. If you go there to vote, you will know which one is his because it is the only one of the three that is animated, and incidentally he, himself (or at least his image) stars in it.

Below is the direct link to the 12 News Facebook page where you can vote, and then share the link with others as well. So just click on it and let’s help one of our own students work get the exposure that it deserves…
